Kevin “Kollins” Hedemark has spent his entire life rooted in the Midwest, living in Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin before settling in Chicagoland, where he has proudly called home for over 25 years. A devoted family man and passionate community advocate, Kevin’s life has been defined by service, leadership, and a commitment to making his community stronger.

With 35 years of experience in the music and radio industry, Kevin’s career has been marked by creativity, leadership, and connecting with others. In 2022, he retired from broadcasting to dedicate more time to his family and deepen his involvement in local organizations and causes. Currently, Kevin wears many hats: he works as a supervisor at UPS, serves as a substitute elementary teacher, and contributes to Heritage Corridor Destinations by assisting with marketing, data analysis, and event planning.

Kevin’s commitment to community service is unparalleled. Over the years, he has volunteered his time and talents with numerous organizations, including:

• Old Joliet Prison Preservation Coalition

• Will County Children’s Advocacy Center

• MorningStar Mission

• 12th Judicial Circuit Court, as the Extended Media Coordinator

• Local Elementary School PTO, as President

• Youth Soccer and Softball Coach

Kevin has also been a foster parent, an HOA board member, and a Lieutenant with the Will County Sheriff’s Auxiliary, where he has proudly served for nearly 20 years. He oversees the organization’s finances, training, policies and procedures. His leadership and hands-on approach reflect his dedication to creating safe, thriving communities.

Beyond his professional and volunteer work, Kevin treasures time spent with his family. He and his wife, an elementary special education teacher, are proud parents of three daughters who inspire him daily.
